Tony FurtadoWith album number fifteen just released, Tony has
been one of the most prolific and in-demand musicians on the Americana music circuit for two decades.

By the age of 19, he had already earned himself a reputation as a banjo prodigy, winning two National Bluegrass Banjo Championships, but decided that one genre wasn’t enough for him and the musical journey that followed was ballistic.

He picked up the slide guitar, using nimble fingers and a bottleneck, and soon began writing songs which had a rootsier feel that suited his own full, earthy vocal style.

Tony had meantime teamed up with many top performers, including Allison Krauss and Tim O’Brien, and shared the stage with the likes of Sonny Landreth, Keith Richards, David Lindley, Norah Jones and many more.

Now based in Portland, Oregon, and an extraordinarily-skilled musician who blends rock music with elements of American old-time and pop, his reach is broad enough to resonate with fans of Ry Cooder, The Band, Bruce Springsteen, Bela Fleck and Tom Petty.

His impressive, furious slide guitar skills and 25-plus years of banjo experience has a tendency to blow away first-timers; those who enjoy a story and a good song get drawn in and enthralled from the tales he has to tell and those who look for polished performance are captivated and warmly entertained.

'He mixes bluegrass roots with a mainstream pop streak, easily holding the spotlight, thanks to his restrained virtuosity on acoustic and slide guitar and a warmly engaging voice reminiscent of T Bone Burnett, sans preachiness' - PASTE Magazine
