Following the success of The Boston Tea Party event at Celtic Connections, the 2008 'live' music programme on The Tall Ship gets underway after Easter and continues throughout the year. Here's what audiences can look forward to during April, May and June:

Karine Polwart & Inge Thomson with Kirsty McGee & Mat Martin
Karine Polwart established herself at the forefront of the UK folk-roots scene after scooping prizes for “Best Album”, “Best Original Song” and the “Horizon Award” for Best Emerging Artist at the UK-wide BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2005.
Since then she has continued to impress with stunning ‘live’ main stage performances at festivals such as Cambridge and Celtic Connections, and beautifully-crafted, strong albums that have received mainstream airplay across Europe.
Inge Thomson (accordion, vocals & percussion) is a permanent member of Karine’s band and also plays in the highly-regarded Harem Scarem.
At Celtic Connections, Karine made a surprise appearance with Kirsty McGee and Mat Martin when they brought their Hobopop Collective show to the Old Fruitmarket.
Kirsty too has been turning heads both as a songwriter and performer and is another who has been nominated in both Best Newcomer and Best Original Song categories at the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
Now, they all get together again to collaborate and showcase some of the material that has kept them up there with the best.
